guest post and a march wallpaper set

hello friends! i am so excited to tell you that i'm guest posting for my first time ever over here at Put A Bird On It! Daniela was so nice to think of me, and i'm thrilled to be sharing a blog tutorial over there today. you better go check it out...

okay but waaaait a sec! before you go, grab my newest wallpaper set for your desktop, ipad, or iphone. seeing it's the last day of February (where is the time going?!gaaa!), i wanted to getcha in the mood for some green! albeit not a whole lot, because i'm just not a huge fan of the color, but there are some fun prints and golds mixed in here. this time i also created a wallpaper more for your "home screen", instead of just your "lock screen". you're welcome :)

blog design: Lacy & Crew

good morning and happy hump day :)  i am soooo excited to be sharing Stayc's new blog design with you today! when Stayc contacted me about a custom design, and i saw her pinterest board (plus read through her detailed email) i got giddy to start designing. we were reading each others minds and on the same page the entire way, which made the process fly by. seriously. i am loving how chic and sassy her colors are, and her font choices here. you better go check out her design up close and in person though, so click here to go say hi to Stayc and see it!

printable: i can do hard things

one of the greatest things about blogging, especially now that i am stepping out of my little bubble to design blogs for other people, are the connections and friendships i've made along the way. do you remember when i designed Ashley's blog (see here)? well, we've kept in contact, even had a run in when i got to go home to Idaho to visit (yay!), and the other week she contacted me about making a printable to share with all of you. of course i said heck yes! (again, i was totally flattered she even thought of asking me)

if you are from the Idaho area, you have probably heard of Ashley's story, but for those that haven't, click here to read and learn more about her and what she's been through. warning: be prepared with a box of tissues, because you will bawl your eyes out. i first heard her story when it was happening (we lived in the same town at the time), and then read it again when i had Bronx, and now being pregnant with a baby girl, my heart aches once again for this sweet, strong, and incredible family.

so when Ashley told me the quote she wanted the printable to say, i knew it held an extra special meaning to her. i kept it simple and clean, wanting the font itself and the words to have more impact. "i can do hard things". it's such a great reminder to each of us to not give up, and to stay strong even when everything seems impossible or frustrating in the moment. for me being 34 weeks pregnant, trying to finish up some custom blog designs, making sure Bronx is getting enough love and attention, and making sure i am getting everything ready for baby girl to arrive, it sometimes feels so overwhelming and like i want to give up. this quote definitely boosted me this week (haha, and don't worry for those asking-i am still going to keep doing custom designs!). it's going to sit on my nightstand from here on out :)

would you like to download it yourself? head on over to Ashley's blog to grab it (i made 4, 8x10"  versions to choose from!)!

freebie: well hello wallpaper set

did you think i had forgotten about you guys when i didn't post a cool freebie yesterday? well i haven't (forgotten about you that is!), and wanted to pop in to share this version of wallpaper inspired from yesterday's "currently loving" post. i am so excited about this new font (asterism >> download for yourself here), especially how uneven it sits on a line. i created two different colors: the green/blue combo you saw yesterday, and this pink/black you see below. have fun with it and enjoy your Saturday!

currently loving

hey heeeeyyy! it's Friday and one of Kevin's sister's (he has 8!) is in town visiting us. yaaaay for visitors! here are a few more things i've been loving lately:

1 ▲ hangin' out with this little dude all day (no, i'm not crying - the light was just suuuper bright/in my face when i took this pic).

2 ▲ successfully making rice crispy treats. i butched the recipe last week (i know, they are like what? THEE easiest recipe ever?), because i used old/hard marshmallows and over boiled/melted them. tip for future-rice-crispy-makers? don't boil your mallows! they were rock solid. anyways, last night's round #2 went much smoother. fresh mallows + 1/2 cup butter + 6 cups rice crispies = gooey deliciousness!

3 ▲ this video of Bronx, showing us what my tummy looks like. no we did not teach him that (and i'm totally serious)! the noises are also all his own :)

4 ▲ speaking of, this is what my belly currently looks like. and why yes, i sure do live in leggings and big shirts like this (uh, i may have 3 or 4 different colors because i love this top so much...).

5 ▲ my new earrings via One Little Belt. ^^see me wearing them in that last pic??^^ besides being so cute, they are so lightweight! i love me some big earrings, but usually they tend to be heavier, which means i end up taking them off in the afternoon. but these babies stay on all day without bugging me at all - i loooove that!

6 ▲ this scripture. just a good reminder that i need to find a little more: faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, brotherly kindness, godliness, charily, humility, diligence.

7 ▲ Bronx's window toys. legos and army men. too stinkin' cute.

8 ▲ morning walks. this awesome bike/jog/walk path was just built behind our house, and we (okay, I)  think it's the greatest thing ever.

9 ▲ this pic i saw on my FB feed last week. agreed?

10 ▲ my child eats dog food. i wouldn't really call this a "currently loving" list item, but as i was scrolling through my pics, this one popped up, and i thought it'd be nice to show you a glimpse of what happens at our house sometimes. sometimes as in: whenever i forget to put up the baby gate that blocks off the kitchen...and dog food. yuck. i don't know why he likes it, but he always goes back for more!

11 ▲ this font i just got. asterism. download HERE.

blog design: Kristen Jo Ann

working with Kristen on this design was so fun, especially because it was so girly! pink + hearts + scrolly lines? i love it! also, congrats to Kristen because she just got engaged in PARIS! so cool. i'm totally jealous. head on over to her site HERE to see all the fun details that make up her design!

*how was your Valentine weekend? we went to Texas Roadhouse at 9:30pm thinking we had missed the rush...but there was still an hour and a half wait! soooo we opted for renting Ender's Game and a pizza :)

freebie: "let's party" wallpaper set

happy Valentine's day! sorry it's been quiet this week, i've taken on some new projects and haven't had lots of extra down time to stop in here (i am excited to tell you about these projects, but you'll have to wait until the next few weeks!).

i'm so excited to be spending the day with my two favorite boys, and guess where we are going?....the zoo! totally can't wait to see what Bronx thinks of all the animals. in other exciting news, i created a wallpaper set for your desktop, ipad, and iphone! i was going to do another Valentine theme, but thought that there'd already be a lot of those floating around (and maybe your sick of that theme by now? haha). so anyways i created this fun "let's party" wallpaper for ya. i think this year may be THE year of the tassel garland for me...i can't get enough of how chic and easy and cute they look. you can definitely look forward to more versions of this in the future :)

oh! and you'll have to look below, but i created a few different variations of this theme for your ipad and iphone. hope you love 'em!
